Thin Places

Thin places exist in Irish mythology as thresholds or portals to the other side. They are a place between worlds. The Derry writer straddles two worlds in Thin Places: the beauty and solace of nature, juxtaposed with the war-torn childhood she experienced. A mixture of memoir, history and nature writing, she explores how the land we fight over is more than what we see on a map.
